Animal
Haven Acres Sanctuary & Rehabilitation Center, a temporary
safe haven or lifetime home for hard to place animals, and animals
recovering from illnesses, is nestled in the beautiful Catskill
Mountains, in Delaware County, New York. Here is a brief
history.
Currently, 15-17 dogs reside at Animal Haven Acres; some are in need of a review on good manners; some for rehabilitation and physical therapy; and some because they are in their "golden years," making them a little older than most folk are looking for to adopt. Whatever road brought them to the Sanctuary; abandonment; abuse; or their human died and there was no next of kin - all the animals are welcomed, and sooner rather than later, that amazing thing called love takes over for the dogs and the humans! |

Classes / Basic Obedience Classes / CGC Classes: In collaboration with
the Heart of the
Catskills Humane Society, Animal Haven, and Jan Newcomer, CPDT,
run weekly group training classes for dog owners in the community.
All dogs are taught using positive, reward-based training. Our goal
is to teach the skills necessary to create lifelong companions in a
relationship based on mutual trust and respect. To register or get a
class schedule please call Heart of the Catskills Humane Society at
(607) 746-3080.
Agility
Classes: Agility Classes have begun! All classes are held outdoors and will continue until snow and freezing weather stops us! The agility field is completely fenced in; we run on grass; and have state-of-the-art equipment from Agility A Go Go. The next
6-week course will begin mid-July. Click on Agility Classes for more
information. Thank you for your interest. See you in the
field!
