Animal Haven Adoption Process
All the animals at Animal Haven have been spayed or neutered and vaccinated they just need to be adopted into loving homes.

Adoptions at Animal Haven Acres are by appointment only. Contact info for dogs at AH Acres is (607) 538-9117 or Maggie Cullen.


In order to adopt an animal from Animal Haven, you need to:
  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Be able to verify with your landlord that you may have a pet if you are renting
  • Provide your veterinarians number for an animal responsibility check
  • Accept home delivery of your new pet for the home animal safety check
  • Understand that we reserve the right to deny the adoption of any pet for any reason

All applicants interested in adopting a companion animal must:

(1) complete an application, (2) briefly be interviewed by an adoption counselor/manager. Through this counseling, the adoption counselor can help you choose a pet that will be compatible with your family and lifestyle.

All members of your household and any dogs you have at home must be brought in to socialize with the dog you wish to adopt, to make the best match for everyone.


Will Animal Haven Acres take in animals?

At this time, we are at full capacity. We recommend that you:

  • Consider talking with a behaviorist if your pet is having issues that can be solved so they can stay with you and your family.
     
  • Make a color flyer of your pet and post it on community bulletin boards, at your place of work, supermarkets, pet supply stores, anywhere you can. Also have friends and relatives post extra flyers.
