Happy Tails...

I love delivering our pets to their new homes. It is indeed one of the most rewarding aspects of our jobs at Animal Haven. Most animals know the moment they walk through the door that they are home! They walk into an apartment and immediately jump on the couch or their newly purchased bed and settle in, or quickly size up their new toys and start playing with their parents! Sometimes, the family invites family and friends over for the new arrival. Sometimes, there are friends photographing and videotaping the new addition to family. Each animal has a different story, but all of our deliveries at Animal Haven have happy endings...
Here is one recent success story...We lost our beloved dog "Harry" over a year ago. He was our family member for over eleven years. After the long mourning process, we thought hard about getting a new dog. This time, we decided to rescue and save a dog, as opposed to going to a breeder (Harry came from a breeder). We wanted to express our love and share our home with a sweet, innocent abandoned dog. After several unsuccessful visits to shelters and animal leagues in the area, Animal Haven alerted us about a beautiful 15-month old cocker spaniel. Just from looking at her happy face in her Animal Haven photo, we had a good sense that she would be affectionate, tender and adoring. Only days later, when we met her at the Animal Haven "mobile adoption van" she spoke to our hearts! (Sun-shine) now Lucy, as we named her, bonded with us from the moment she was delivered to our home. With her presence, our family is complete once again and a major absence has been filled. Lucy is bright, loving and her temperament is delicious and playful. Our personal veterinarian was very pleased with our selection, too. We are truly blessed that Lucy is now a delightful addition to our household and we are thankful that she has found a comfortable and warm home with us. WE LOVE LUCY!!! And WE LOVE ANIMAL HAVEN for making this real!!

i have taken in a tiny dog that had his face beaten in & thru torture you can't imagine. All teeth were pulled to reconstruct his face. Neutered w/ skin still there like an inflated balloon. The anal area was black. He now has a happy home which he so deserves. Also hit by a car immediately after reconstruction. Gizmo's story!!
