Chinta at vet

Chinta is a tiny Maltese who came to Animal Haven last weekend with a group of dogs rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea via Humane Society International.

Oddly, she was not in the group of dogs meant to be slaughtered but was instead the meat farm’s own personal dog — living just feet from dogs that would have a very different fate. But now that she is with us, we realize that she too was extremely neglected.

Diabetic and much older than thought, Chinta is being treated by our partner vet. She is very sickly and will need additional care, along with injections twice a day for the rest of her life. We will keep you posted on her over the coming week or so. Chinta has come a long way to be rescued and we will make sure that she gets to spend her days in a loving home — safe, healthy and sound.
